Palestine

Palestine is a land rooted in rich cultural heritage, united by resilience and a deep connection to their ancestral lands. Yet, amidst this cultural vibrancy, Palestine grapples with the enduring Israeli-Palestinian conflict, marked by issues of occupation, settlement expansion, and aspirations for self-determination. The Palestinian people have been under siege long before October 7th, 2023. Though Israel has issued what they deem a "retaliatory response" to the attacks of October 7th, Israel's apartheid regime is committing an ethnic cleansing against the Palestinian people in real time.

Palestinian Hardship, as funded by the US

The Palestinian people have experienced unimaginable hardships, most of which stem from the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the ongoing occupation of Palestinian territories. This has not started on October 7th, but has been ongoing for over 75 years.

Occupation and
Land Disputes

Since the 1967 Six-Day War, Israel has occupied the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Gaza Strip. This occupation has led to disputes over land, resources, and control, with Palestinians facing restrictions on movement, access to resources, and expansion of Israeli settlements in Palestinian territories.

Gaza Blockade & Humanitarian Crisis

The Gaza Strip has been under a blockade since 2007, severely restricting the movement of people and goods in and out of the territory. This blockade has contributed to a humanitarian crisis, with shortages of essential supplies such as food, water, electricity, and medical services. The living conditions in Gaza are dire.

Settlement Expansion and Displacement

Israeli settlements in the West Bank, considered illegal under international law, continue to expand, leading to displacement of Palestinian communities and fragmentation of Palestinian territories. This has resulted in loss of land, livelihoods, and access to natural resources for Palestinians.

Violence and Security Concerns

The conflict has been characterized by periods of violence, including military operations, airstrikes, rocket attacks, and clashes between Israeli security forces and Palestinian groups. Civilians have been affected by violence, with casualties, injuries, and psychological trauma.

Human Rights Violations

Palestinians have reported human rights violations, including arbitrary detention, torture, collective punishment, and restrictions on freedom of movement and expression. These violations have been documented by international human rights organizations and bodies.

Now more than ever, your support for Palestine is needed. Since October 7th of 2023, Gaza and the Occupied West Bank has been under direct assault from Israel. Indiscriminate bombing and ground-invasions have made already-difficult living conditions unimaginable.
